Homemade “Krystal” Burgers ~ the healthy & fresh way!!

Well, this recipe is SO very good, I had to add it here ~ even though IT ISN’T EXACTLY ON MY PLAN… but… it can be modified to make it more compliant (I know, GENIUS! ~ whatever… :) ) You’ll definitely want to PIN this one, it’s just that dang good!

Krystal Burgers:
Yield: 20 – 24 small burgers

1 1/2 lbs Hamburger meat **
1 onion (sliced into pieces)
1 tbs peanut butter ~ YES, add this to the mix!
1 package of sweet rolls (I used Hawaiian rolls) **
1 packet Lipton Onion Soup mix
1/2 cup milk
cheese slices
** can use ground turkey, VERY lean beef or a mixture of both  AND can use pita bread, ‘skinny’ buns or bread of choice to help lower the fat and calorie content!

Directions: preheat oven to 350. mix meat, milk, packet of Lipton soup mix and peanut butter together in bowl. Spread mixture on cookie sheet and spread out with rolling pin. Put in oven for 10 minutes (the meat will shrink), take out of oven, drain most of fat CAREFULLY if needed and scatter onions around edges and place back in oven and cook another 12 minutes. take out after time is up and spoon onion onto meat (can spoon a little bit of juices across meat if using LEAN meat) also put cheese on top of onions and place back in oven for another 5 minutes. Then put tops of rolls (leave bottom part on another cookie sheet) and place back in oven for a couple of minutes OR can serve from this point. Then use pizza cutter or metal spatula and cut around tops and put each burger on bottom portion. Dress with toppings as desired (lettuce, mustard, tomato, etc) ENJOY, ’cause these are SO delicious! 🙂
